Making new friends and reconnecting with old friends - life will never be the same again!

My life has become more interesting, enriching and meaningful recently after I made the decision to expand my social life and social circle. For a few decades in my life, I am more of a loner who kept within my small circle of friends. That seemed to suit my independent and individualistic personality. After a personal crisis two months ago, however, I came to the realisation that "no man is an island" and that my life has become mundane and lacking in certain aspects. Recently, however, I have finally found the time and resolve to make new friends and yet reconnect with the old group of NIE friends at the same time. That has in turn, sparked new social activities and interests in my life. Life will never be the same again! Suddenly like a teenager, my life is becoming more eventful and exciting!
Last night, in particular, I had a reunion with my NIE friends, some of whom I have not met since I started teaching! We shared so much about our lives all these years and noticed how we have all changed for the better through the years. A few are even married with kids now. It was impossible to narrate seven years of our lives in such a short time but we all agreed that we should meet more often in the future for meals, jogs and other activities. My old friends, in particular, have noticed the many positive changes in me as a person - a sign that my resolution is working! I am now a "new" and hopefully wiser person. It is time that certain unpleasant episodes in my life be laid to rest and I think judging from the way things have turned out these last two months, the "doors" are beginning to open and I am beginning to see the "light at the end of the tunnel"! It is amazing how far I have come from the broken and depressed person of just two months ago when everything seemed impossible! Thank God for answering my prayers!

Hey Malcolm. I have been very encouraged by how God has been working in your life. This is a very encouraging post! It is amazing to see/ read/ hear how faithful He is!:) It is really great. I have been keeping up to speed with the things that you have been sharing over the last few months and I am especially excited about your new career! You have got me interested in history. Can I join you for one of these WW2 tours when I return? Meanwhile, keep in touch. :) BK
