My Legacy Has Passed On!

Two of my first batch of students in Bendemeer Secondary 4E1 (2003), Kit Geok (History undergraduate in NUS) and Chong Ying (Literature undergradute in NTU) are now intern teachers in secondary schools until end of July! Kit Geok has been posted to Tanjong Katong Sec while Chong Ying has been posted to her alma mater, Bendemeer Sec! I feel proud and fulfilled that they are considering teaching as a career even though I have left the teaching service. My legacy has passed on!

Kit Geok in particular has been faithfully pursuing her interest in history since junior college. I am glad that she has been following her passion rather than following the crowd. Hope that she will in future take over my role as history educator to make the subject come alive amongst students! It was just too bad that she was not posted to BSS or it would be a case of my first batch of history student coming back to take over my baton for a while! I wish them all the best and fulfilment in what they do. Teaching can be very rewarding when you hear of news of ex-students like them!
